JAMMU, Oct 19: All the organizations fighting for justice for the Displaced Persons (DPs) from Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) of 1947, 1965 and 1971 have joined hands and framed a united Confederation of all PoJK refugees organizations to fight for common cause.
The leaders/members of of various organisations of the PoJK DPs including Gurdev Singh (SAC), Capt Yudhveer Singh (PoJK DPs Front), Jagjeet Singh Sudan (MJR-47), V K Dutta (SOS Intl), Adv Amrik Singh (PoJK-SIF), Vinod Shandil and others told media-persons here that the need was felt by the members of all the bodies to join hands and wage united struggle for their common cause. For this, they have come out on a joint platform.
They pointed out that earlier on Oct 22 every year, all the DPs’ organizations used to hold different functions to pay tribute to the martyrs of Tribal raids in PoJK. But this year the Confederation decided to organize a grand function in this connection in Jammu on Oct 22. They said over 70,000 Hindu and Sikh men, women and children were martyred during raids by the Kwailies in Muzaffrabad, Poonch, Mirpur, Rawalkote, Bhimber, Kotli, Kashmir and other places.
This day will also be observed as Black Day. The demands of the PoJK DPs as recommended by JPC are still pending. The DPs are struggling for the last 70 years for their rights.
They disclosed that the joint function of the Confederation will be held at Reen Palace, Chatha in Jammu on Oct 22, at 10.00 am onwards.
