JAMMU, Aug 26: The Janam ashtami Shoba yatra will be taken out tomorrow in a traditional way with full religious fervour and gaiety by Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SDS) and J&K Dharmarth Trust jointly.
This was stated by president of SDS, Jagdish Raj Dogra at a press conference here, today along with other members of the organization.
He made an appeal to people to maintain peace and traditional brotherhood for which Jammu has always given a lead. He said the Muslims have assured full cooperation in taking out of Shoba yatra and the Muslim Federation has decided to welcome the Jhankis at Rajinder Bazar.
He said all preparations have been made by the two organizations for taking out of Shoba yatra.
Mr Dogra said 20 to 25 Jhankis will be taken out this year. The Shoba yatra will start from Parade Ground at 4 pm and after reaching the historical Raghunath Mandir the holy chariot will be taken out which will lead the yatra and all other Jhankis will follow it.
Mr Dogra said that the Shoba yatra from Parade Ground will pass via Indira Chowk, Hari Market, Raghunath Bazar, Kanak Mandi, City Chowk and Purani Mandi etc. The authorities have granted permission to taking out of yatra and devotees in large number will also take part in it, he added.
The other SDS leaders present in the press conference included Krishan Gopal Aggarwal its general secretary, Jagdish Sharma its senior vice president, Pawan Pandoh secretary and Vijay Mehra, member.
Meanwhile, Art of Living is also celebrating the Janamashtami in association with Dharmarth Trust in Sri Raghunath Mandir on August 28 from 7 pm to 12 am of August 29. This was decided in a meeting here today which was among others attended by Subash Kumar Shastri, Neelam Sharma, Mrs Ashutosh Dubey, Mr Vikram, Sanjeev Sharma, Ravinder Mittal and Anil Gupta.
