KARGIL, Sept 7: National Conference today re-asserted the unity and commitment of the people of all the three regions of the State to stand in strong defence of Article 35-A.
Addressing a convention in Kargil during an extensive tour of the district, National Conference Provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani and chief spokesperson Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi said that Article 35-A was a non-negotiable article of faith and trust that will be defended by people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh unitedly.

On this occasion, former Chief Executive Councillor of LAHDC Kargil Haji Mohd Hanifa was appointed as the president of the Party for Kargil district and prominent PDP activist Parveen Akhtar joined the party along with scores of other political workers and activists.
Speaking on the occasion, NC Provincial President congratulated Haji Muhammad Hanifa on his new responsibility in the party and said National Conference was the only party in the State that worked as a cohesive and unifying bond between the three regions. “We have always strived to maintain unity, communal amity and brotherhood between the three regions of the State and we will continue to stand together as one people against all nefarious designs aimed to fragment us and weaken us. Our composite political and cultural identity is non-negotiable and we will not allow divisive and disruptive forces to divide us to further their deep-rooted political agenda”, the NC Provincial president said.
Speaking on the occasion, NC chief spokesperson Aga Syed congratulated Haji Hanifa on being appointed as the party’s Kargil district president and expressed faith in his dedication to strengthen the party at the grassroots level
He said the myth that Article 35-A finds support in only one region of the State has been exposed by NC’s continuing outreach programme on this issue in Jammu, Kashmir and in Ladakh. Nc will reach every region for campaign.
NC district president Kargil thanked the party for reposing faith in him and reaching out to people in all the three regions of the State and acting as a bond of unity and cohesion.
Former Ministers Qamar Ali Akhoon, Feroz Ahmed Khan and senior leader Ghulam Hassan Khan also spoke on the occasion.
