KATRA, Mar 3: In order to promote tourism in the state, Principal Secretary, Tourism, Sandeep Nayak convened a meeting of officers and Hotel Association here today.
Among others, Director Tourism Jammu, R.K Varma, Additional CEO Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Dr. Piyush Singla, Deputy Director Tourism Sushil Atri, Assistant Director Tourism Ashima Sher, President Hotel and Restaurant Association Rakesh Wazir, Chairman, Shyam Lal and other prominent citizens were present in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep Nayak emphasized the modalities with regard to increase in tourist inflow besides developing places of tourist interest in and around Katra. He stressed to divert them towards other beautiful pilgrim tourist destinations of the State.
Principal Secretary said that Government is keen to develop tourism in the state by increasing comfortable stay of the tourist visiting different destinations. He said that all possible steps would be taken to redress problems being faced by the Hotel Association to promote tourism in the district. He stressed for taking regular meetings with tourism stakeholders of the State so that growth of tourism is expedited further by taking their valuable suggestions.
On the occasion, Director tourism briefed about the various developmental activities carried out for boosting tourism in Jammu province.
President HRAK, Rakesh Wazir also put forth demands and problems being faced by the association including beautification of Katra town, making of left over road portion of Devi Ki Pindian, Linking of Sakaiter Domail to Surinsar/Mansar through a bridge at Tahra, Developing of tourist places like Deva Mai, Shanker Acharya, Nau Devian, Baba Dhansar, Siar BaBa, Shiv Khori, Patnitop, Natha Top, Sanasar, Mansar, Surinsar etc., opening of Shri Amar Nath Yatra slip counter at Katra etc.
Principal Secretary assured them of early redressal of all genuine demands on priority.
