Srinagar, Sept 6: An alleged fake doctor practicing in Kupwara was today arrested by police.
A police official said that after the reports the police reached spot and detained him for illegally practicing in the town.
It was said that the action was taken by the police on the basis of certain media reports which claimed that the man was a fake doctor and was exploiting the commoners.
The alleged fake doctor is said to be a Government employee working in the Food Department.
The person had opened a private clinic and was apparently treating patients who used to throng his clinic in good numbers every day.
An FIR No. 225/2020 has been registered at Police Station Kupwara and further investigation has been set in motion.
The man has given out questionable credentials as a Gastroenterologist and has also been claiming that he is working as a professor at SKIMS, Soura.
