UDHAMPUR, May 11: Following inputs that two armed suspects were spotted in a car near Jail Road Udhampur, Police launched a massive search operation in the area and an alert was sounded, here this afternoon.
Besides launching a combing operation, Police teams also visited hotels and lodges in the area and scrutinized the visitors register.
According to SSP Udhampur, Rayees Ahmad Malik, the search operation was launched following inputs that two suspects along with AK-47 rifles were seen moving in a Maruti Omni (JK-20-8547), near Jail Road, Udhampur.
Even as no suspect could be traced and apprehended during the search operation, which continued for more than two hours, the entire area was still on alert with intensified nakas and Police patrolling till last reports came in.
