Alleged old aged lovers acquitted in murder case

JAMMU, Dec 19: Principal Sessions Judge Rajouri Jaffer Hussain Beg has acquitted alleged old aged lovers in a murder case as prosecution failed to connect them with the crime.
According to the prosecution case, on November 10, 2014 dead body of Lal Singh, son of Sohan Singh of Rajpur Kamila was found dead near the natural water source under suspicious condition.
During the course of investigation, it came to the fore that Lal Singh was killed by Daleep Singh, son of Sansar Singh and Jaswant Kour, wife of Baldev Singh, both the residents of Rajpur Kamila as the deceased was objecting to their illicit relations.
After examining the prosecution and defence witnesses, the Principal Sessions Judge Rajouri observed, “there is neither direct nor indirect evidence of the prosecution to connect the accused with the crime attributed to them. The result is that the challan is dismissed and the accused Daleep Singh and Jaswant Kour are acquitted for offences with which they have been charged”.
“They shall stand released from the custody forthwith. The seized articles shall be destroyed after the period of appeal”, the court said.
