Alleged thrashing of man triggers protest, stone pelting on police post

JAMMU, July 7: Alleged thrashing of a man by police triggered protest and stone pelting on the police post Pargwal in city outskirts.
According to the reports, a man namely Rasal Singh son of Bharat Singh, resident of Pargwal, who was accused in a case was called by Pargwal police for questioning but during questioning, he was beaten by the police and he suffered a head injury.
Agitating over the alleged thrashing by the police, the relatives, friends and neighbor of the Rasal Singh held a strong protest in front of police post Pargwal and even pelted stone on the police post.
During stone pelting, one police personnel posted in the police post received minor injury. A case in this connection was registered by Khour police and further investigation started.
Meanwhile, a police officer alleged that no police official ever beat Rasal Singh. He (Rasal Singh) himself injured him by hitting his head with a brick and made the accusations on the police.
