JAMMU, June 15: “The country is progressing because we are safe. There are those who live for us, who risk their lives for our security, giving us the freedom to live in the open air. Remembering this sacrifice, let’s learn to live for others. We should keep the spirit of serving society and the nation along with our family, only then life will be meaningful,” said Param Vir Chakra awardee Subedar Major Honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav during a Shaurya Vandan programme organized by ALLEN Career Institute Jammu here today.
ALLEN Career Institute Private Limited organized the Shaurya Vandan program at Convention Centre, Gulami Bagh, Canal Road, Jammu on the occasion of the 25th year of Kargil Victory. Families of 17 martyrs from Jammu and surrounding areas who sacrificed their lives in the Kargil War were honoured in the programme.
The families were given checks of Rs 11,000 each and certificates of honour. The families of the martyrs also shared their experiences during the event. There were several emotional moments when everyone had tears in their eyes. The students present in the program stood up and applauded in honour of the martyrs and saluted their families.
The chief guest, Director of ALLEN Dr Naveen Maheshwari paid homage to the martyrs and honoured their families. He said that ALLEN Career Institute is always at the forefront in fulfilling its social responsibilities.
On the occasion of completing 25 years of Kargil Victory, the Shaurya Vandan program has been initiated. Programmes will be organized all over India under this initiative. On this occasion, ALLEN’s Zonal Head Sadanand Vani, Centre Head Kuldeep Sharma, and other senior faculty members were present.
In the program, the families of the martyrs from Jammu district are Bahadur Singh, Daler Singh, Devaraj, Gurdeep Singh, Madanlal, Raman Kumar, Tarsem Lal, Udayman Singh; from Kupwara: Mohammad Khan, Ravinder Singh; from Doda: Isteyak Ahmed, Kartar Singh; from Kathua: Lakhveer Singh, Rajinder Singh, Sartool Singh; from Poonch: Manzoor Hussain, Mohammad Islam were honoured.
