Allow only road worthy vehicles to commute: Vikramaditya

JAMMU, Nov 14: President, Mata Sarthal Devi Shrine and former MLC, Vikramaditya Singh while expressing grief over the unfortunate accident in Kishtwar, near Mata Sarthal Devi, wherein four people have lost their lives and five others received severe injuries, has urged to ensure that only road worthy vehicles and qualified drivers should be permitted to drive commercial vehicles.
In a statement issued here, today he said there should be strict vigil against overloading of vehicles which is the major cause of such accidents.
Vikramaditya said Doda and Kishtwar districts have become known for areas prone to fatal accidents. He said the RTO must ensure that only road worthy vehicles and trained drivers be permitted to drive the commercial vehicles especially on hilly routes.
Vikramaditya also expressed grief and sorrow over the tragic road accident in Marmat Road, Doda in which 16 people have lost their lives. He prayed to God to grant eternal peace to the departed souls and give courage to the family members to bear this irreparable loss. He also prayed for a speedy recovery of the injured persons.
