JAMMU, June 9: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K executive member Raman Suri today urged Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu to direct the traffic authorities not to harass people and businessmen on the pretext of wrong parking during these tough times and allow parking of vehicles on one side of all city roads.
Suri said that businessmen, traders and shopkeepers in entire old city areas besides common people are facing hardships in absence of proper parking areas and above that traffic authorities are continuing to impose heavy fines on vehicles. He said that instead of finding a way out, traffic authorities are continuing to harass vehicle owners.
He said that everyone understands the gravity of situation in wake of pandemic and in absence of free flow of money, people are also facing cash crunch. As law abiding citizens, people are doing their best to co-operate with Government but such harassment at the hands of traffic cops and making them shelve heavy fines is absolutely uncalled for.
The BJP leader said till the parking lots are not built in the City, people should be allowed to park vehicles on one side of all city roads.
