* Permit plying of buses, mini-buses

VIJAYPUR, May 29: Former minister and senior leader of Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP), Manjit Singh has appealed the Government to permit business activities by the evening Reheriwalas, load carriers, road side vendors, small passenger transporters like mini-buses and three-wheelers.
In a press statement here JKAP leader said that these poor people have shut their small business establishments since day one when the nationwide lockdown was announced by the Union Government. He extended full support to the cause of these hapless people who earn on daily basis and generate meals for their families. He said the mini-buses and auto-rikshaw operators are also facing the same problem.
JKAP leader further said that when Government has allowed gradual opening of rest of the economic activities, why these cannot be allowed to operate with conditions of following norms of social distancing and cleanliness.
“Many of them have taken loans from the banks to run their small businesses. Now, when their Raheries and evening eateries are closed, it is not possible to even manage two times meal for their families,” Manjit said.
These people earn on daily bases to feed their families and pay back loans. “The Government should step in to help the poor people with regard to deduction of loan installments so that they get some relief from the banks, and also compensation be announced in their favour,” former minister said.
“Since they lack financial support, these people have become dependent upon their relatives and locals. “They should be allowed to run their businesses. Similarly, three-wheelers, drivers, mini-buses, and load carriers have also been passing though same situation,” he added.
