SAMBA, Nov 2: Principal Secretary, School Education, Alok Kumar, today visited panchayat Bagla Jakh in Vijaypur and reached out to locals including PRI members as part of ongoing ‘Back to Village’ programme’a fourth phase.
On the occasion, District Development Council Chairman, Keshav Dutt Sharma, Block Development Council Chairman Vijaypur, Sarpanch besides other senior officers were also present.
Principal Secretary, while interacting with the members of panchayat, highlighted the government initiatives towards establishing a transparent, efficient and responsive governance at their doorsteps. He said officers have been deputed to panchayts in order to conduct an appraisal of development works at grassroot level and to ensure saturation of government sponsored schemes through massive public participation. “Awareness of schemes through departmental stalls and prolonged IEC has been taken up at grassroot levels to ensure equitable development” added Alok Kumar.
On the first day of his two day visit to the panchayat Bagla Jakh, Principal Secretary interacted with locals, Sarpanch, Panches, DDC members and BDC members and took a detailed review of functioning of various schemes at grassroot level.
Principal Secretary laid emphasis on ensuring 100% saturation of government schemes with special focus on self employment, Swachta Abhiyan, Ayushman Bharat Golden Card Registration, dissemination on digital services etc.
Meanwhile, Alok Kumar also distributed baby care kits, school bag kits, sanction letters under self employment schemes, land passbooks, golden cards of Ayushman Bharat,
On the occasion, Principal Secretary also interacted with students and staff in HSS Jakh. Culture programme was also presented under talent hunt initiative in the school.
Later, visiting officer also conducted meetings with senior citizens and addressed their issues in presence of Deputy Commissioner Samba and other district officers.
