JAMMU, Jan 15: Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari today called on Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan.
During the meeting, Bukhari discussed various issues pertaining to socio-economic development and sought intervention of the Lt. Governor in some of the important matters including the arbitrary curtailment in the age bar for J&K Civil Services aspirants, the pathetic condition of the stranded passengers especially the patients, students, and the tourists who are stuck in Srinagar and Jammu due to closure of National Highway.
Bukhari emphasized on the need that the truth behind Hokerser-Srinagar encounter be brought into public domain in light of the apprehensions raised by the families of the three slain youth.
He said that the revelation of the factual details about this controversial encounter is imperative in view of the recently exposed Amshipora-Shopian encounter in which three labourers from Rajouri District were killed in the cold blood.

Apni Party President impressed upon the Lt Governor to order for the necessary boarding and lodging arrangements for the stranded passengers including students and patients who are stuck up in both the capitals of J&K in view of the closure of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
He sought air sorties for evacuation of stranded passengers from Srinagar to Jammu and vice-versa. Besides these issues Bukhari highlighted various developmental issues pertaining to both the divisions of J&K and urged the Lt Governor to get the stalled projects completed in a time bound manner.
Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan also called on Lt Governor and submitted a memorandum of issues and demands pertaining to reservation of seats in SKAUST Jammu/Kashmir and in other Universities of J&K for the students of Kargil & Leh; reservation in admissions in Para-Medical Colleges of J&K, Boys/Girl Hostel for Students of Kargil at Srinagar and pending GP Fund of employees of Ladakh.
The Lt Governor assured the Chairman/CEC LAHDC Kargil that the genuine issues put forth by him would be looked into meticulously for their redressal at the earliest.
Similarly, former Minister, Abdul Majid Wani called on the Lt Governor and apprised him about developmental issues of Doda area from tourism point of view. He also demanded a Degree College for the people of far-flung areas of Block Bhalla and Marmat. Sarpanchs of Panchayat Trown and Shiva also accompanied the former Minister.
Later, former Legislator, Vibodh Gupta along with DDC member Dharhal, Mohammad Iqbal Malik called on the Lt Governor and drew his attention towards the issue of tapping tourism potential of Rajouri area, particularly, seven Lakes, which has huge religious as well as tourism importance. They also raised the issues related to road connectivity from Dharhal to Shakarmarg which is the gateway to the beautiful Pir Panjal ranges.
The Lt Governor, during his interaction with the members of the delegations, observed that the UT government is committed for the equitable development of all the areas of J&K.
Development of tourism sector is among the prime focus areas of the government which will facilitate the socio-economic development, besides attracting more avenues for holistic development of the tourist potential areas of J&K, said the Lt Governor.
He assured the members of the delegations that the issues and demands raised by them would be taken up for consideration on merit.
