Srinagar, Mar 2: Senior National Conference leader and former MLA Kangan Mian Altaf Ahmed has expressed shock and anguish over the prevailing situation along the LoC in the State.
Altaf expressed grief over the killing of three members of a family and injuries to several others in cross border firing in Jhullas area of Poonch district and other areas.
In a statement, Altaf condemned the incidents of heavy shelling along the Line of Control particularly in Poonch and Rajouri areas that has affected the people living in the twin districts.
He said that belying the claims of the Centre and well as the State Governments that necessary steps like construction of underground bunkers, shifting of affected people to safer places by providing them land, the authorities have done little for the affected people.
