SRINAGAR, June 21: Forest Minister, Mian Altaf Ahmed today inaugurated the Forest Demarcation Complex and renovated Forest Library at Sheikh Bagh Forest Complex here.
An official statement said the Minister on the occasion asked departmental functionaries for creation of hard and soft data based information about forest resources within shortest possible time for improving efficiency in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of various field activities.
He appreciated efforts of department to give a new look to the demarcation system. In absence of the same, the resource is going to remain under maximum stress in times to come.
On this occasion a power point presentation was given by Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Abhai Kumar highlighting the progress and achievements in respect of digitalization of demarcation boundaries and also the protection, nursery and plantation digital grid by using the modern available technologies and equipments.
The inaugural function was also attended by the Heads of Departments of sister concerns and all ranks and files of Forest Department.
