Alto car plunges into gorge, one killed, four injured

BHADERWAH, June 6: One person was killed and four got injured, when an Alto car they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge near village Malani.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK06 5514 , was on its way to Bhaderwah from Manthala, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into a gorge, resulting into serious injuries to five persons.
On getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot, started rescue operation and shifted all the injured to hospital, where doctors declared Bori Singh, son of Omi Das of village Dalyian as brought dead.
The injured have been identified as Shakti Kumar, son of Badri Nath, Ravinder Kumar, son of Manda Ram, Dev Raj, son of Lal Chand, all residents of Dalyian village and driver of the car Kewel Krishan, son of Krishan Lal of Gupt Ganga.
Later, two seriously injured were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital for specialized treatment.
A case under FIR No. 78/13 under Sections 279 and 337 RPC has been registered at Police station Bhaderwah and investigation started.
Meanwhile, SDM Bhaderwah Dr Ravi Bharti has sanctioned Rs 5,000 to each injured persons under Red Cross Fund and assured all possible help to them and their family members.
