JAMMU, Feb 15: The distinguished alumni of 1970 batch of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Jhulaka Mohalla today visited their school after a long time and were warmly welcomed by the Principal Razia.
The alumni hailed from different walks of life like bureaucracy, social service, engineer, educationist, contractors etc.
They felt nostalgic and remembered the time back in 1970 when they used to study in the institute and said they were proud of the school which imparted them knowledge and skills to rise in the society.
They met present school teachers, students and held a discourse with them imparting them motivation tips.
The alumni expressed their desire to contribute for the glory of the school which has produced in early days so many successful individuals and decided to form an Alumni Association to pay back to the school by acting as a bridge between Government and the school.
They decided to play the role of active Civil Society and pledged to work for the upliftment of the school in different ways. The school staff welcomed the idea of Alumni Association.
The distinguished alumni included Ashok Angurana, (Retired Secretary GoI); Commander, V.K Jaitley; Shaminder Sharma, (Retd) Director Radio Station; R.K Kalsotra, (Retd) ALBO; Pawan Bhagat, Ramesh Sharma (Retd) Headmaster; Paritam Rathore, (Retd) Agriculture Officer; Ashok Vasudev, Businessman and Subash Kohli, Contractor.
