AMRITSAR, Feb 8: Amandeep Hospital Private Limited (AHPL) has attained a major milestone in its Smile Train project, initiated with the aim of adding beautiful smiles to faces of people in need and proffer new hope and a fresh lease of life to patients needing surgical intervention for the correction of their facial deformities, through a host of successful surgeries performed under this project, over the years.
Giving details, Dr Ravi Kumar Mahajan, HoD, Chief Plastic, Microvascular and Reconstructive Surgeon, Amandeep Group of Hospitals, and President, Association of Plastic Surgeons of India, said that the AHPL had launched the Smile Train project in 2004 to perform cleft lip surgeries on patients needing the same.
“The hospital has attained a major milestone in this sphere with at least 7500 successful surgeries performed free of cost on those needing the same for the correction of cleft lip and secondary deformities,” he said. He added that the hospital has also been offering speech and dental services for the past 18 years. “These speech and dental services are also being offered free of cost,” Dr Mahajan added.
He maintained that the achievement bore witness to the hospital’s distinction as a medical conglomerate specializing in various fields of medicine and surgery. “This is not the end of the road as the Smile Train still has a long way to go with many more such successful surgeries likely to be performed under this project in the future,” said Dr Mahajan.
