JAMMU, Apr 10: Birth anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar was celebrated here today and in this regard a bike rally was organized by Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti Celebration Committee.
The bike rally started from Satwari Chowk and culminated at Dr. B.R Ambedkar Chowk after passing through Vikram Chowk, Old Tawi Bridge, Dogra Chowk, Jewel Chowk (Shri Guru Ravi Dass Chowk), Lower Gumat, Vivekanand Chowk, Prem Nagar, Gujjar Nagar Bridge, University Road and Girdhari Lal Chowk.
A large number of bikers participated in the rally and peacefully raised slogans praising Babasaheb Dr. Ambedkar. The participants in the rally were attired in blue turbans and they held blue flags with Jai Bhim written on them.
The rally was welcomed by various people along the way.
The main organizers of the celebration committee were Pawan Kundal, Dr. Rakesh Atri, Dr. Vijay Shivgotra, Sham Lal Bassan, Amit Chalotra, Sham Sarmal, R.D Thappa, Sanjeev Bangotra, Kartik Bhagat and others.
Meanwhile, another rally was taken out from Marh to mark the celebration of Dr. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary and it passed through different bazaars and culminated at Dr. B.R Ambedkar Chowk, Jammu.
People from different walks of life paid tributes to Dr. B.R Ambedkar on his birth anniversary.
The rally was led by senior Congress leader, Ashok Bhagat and was joined by many people including Sarpanch Ghasita Ram, Congress president Marh, Ashwani Sharma, Ex-Panch Biloo, Tarsem Lal, Anil Kumar, Janak Raj, Bawa Ram, Mohinder Pal, Ashok Kumar, Joginder Kumar, Ajeet Raj, Ajay Kumar, Bishan Bharti and others.
Many speakers recalled the contribution of Dr. Ambedkar.
