JAMMU, Apr 14: Terming the manifesto of BJP released today as a bunch of Jumlas, AICC senior leader and Incharge J&K affairs of the party, Bharatsinh Solanki while paying rich tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar stated that the Constitution crafted and drafted by him kept our diverse nation united and strong after independence but there are threats to the Constitution and the unity of the country by the forces creating hatred and division.
Addressing a large gathering at Suchetgarh in R S Pura Sub Division of Jammu today to observe the birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, Solanki said that the Constitution represents the aspirations of all diverse sections of the pluralist India and is a sacred book of rights of all. Dr Ambedkar was chosen to incorporate the aspirations of this greatly diverse nation while drafting the Constitution and he did it so perfectly along with great stalwarts of the time that everyone in the country is satisfied with the fundamental document.
Today attempts are being made to dilute the basic spirit of the Constitution and the BJP Government has been trying to bypass and weaken the Constitutional institutions set up by Pt Nehru downwards in seventy years as per Constitution and said that biggest fight today is to save Constitution and democracy.
He said Congress is committed not only to safeguard Constitution but further strengthen it as announced in the guarantee card of this election. All people especially the downtown sections, women and youth, farmers & workers should go through the guarantee card minutely as Congress has very sincerely committed various important things for them which shall transform their lives.
Solanki termed the BJP Manifesto as bunch of `Jumlas’ which does not mention fulfilling of earlier commitments with the people, the price rise and unemployment the biggest challenges.
AICC secretary Manoj Yadav also paid rich tribute to Dr Ambedkar and said that Congress is always committed to safeguard it and safeguard the rights of all especially downtrodden and weaker sections of society.
Any attempt to weaken it would be thwarted but cautioned people to remain alert & , united for the cause of Constitution, democracy and unity in diversity, he added.
Former Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman PCC Campaign Committee, Tara Chand lashed out at the Modi Government for trying to weaken the Constitution gifted by Dr Ambedkar and adopted by our forefathers, for the country. The Constitution is the soul of the nation and any attempt to weaken it would be disastrous for the unity and integrity of the nation.
He said that people of all sections of this country respect & follow the Constitution but Modi Government wanted to dilute the rights enshrined in the Constitution but people will always resist such attempts under the leadership of Congress for which people need to bring INDI alliance to power this time.
Congress candidate from Jammu seat Raman Bhalla also paid tribute and addressed the gathering, targeted BJP for its anti-people, anti- farmer, anti-youth and anti-trader policies. He urged people to teach BJP a lesson this time and support Congress.
Function was organised by former MP TS Bajwa, Bhushan Dogra besides T S Tony, Shashi Sharma, Karan Bhagat, Ch Hussain Ali Waffa, Rajveer Singh, Jatin Raina, Sahil Sharma, Ravinder Singh, Daleep Kumar and various other leaders attended.
