Ambulance at Sumb PHC defunct

SAMBA, Sept 20: The ambulance at the Government Primary Health Centre located at Block Sumb in district Samba is idle for last one month as no one in the Health Department takes pains to repair it after it developed a snag.
According to the people, ambulance of the Primary Health Centre in the block Sumb area of the district Samba is idle for last one month after it developed some mechanical fault and authorities at helm of affairs are not bothered to renovate the same.
The village Sumb lies 15 kilometers from district Headquarter Samba. People are facing a lot of trouble due to lack of ambulance facilities in shifting the serious patients either to DH Samba or GMC Jammu after the ambulance developed some defect last month.
The failure of the authorities in repairing the Ambulance has generated a lot of resentment among the people. They alleged that no one in the Department takes pains in getting the ambulance repaired saying that on the one hand the Union Government is trying to make all facilities available for the patients betterment and on the other the State Government has failed to keep the ambulances in order to be used during emergency services in carrying patients.
Local people of Sumb village have demanded from that the ambulance be repaired soon.
CMO Samba,Rajinder Samyal,said that he has no information that the ambulance is not in working condition.
