AMEAK delegation meets MoS Home, Defence to highlight problems

Jammu, Aug 17: The delegation of KP employees under the banner of All Migrant Employees Association Kashmir visited Delhi and met Union Minister of State for Home, Defence besides Special Secretary Home, Internal Security, Member Parliaments and some other dignitaries. The delegation held separate meetings with each dignitary and apprised them about the issues and demand of KP employees serving in Valley.
The delegation met Union Minister of State for Home Hanasraj Ahir in his office and discussed in detail the challenges faced by the employees where discharging their duties in Valley. The Minister was apprised about the recent incidents of stone pelting on their residential quarters by antisocial elements after the killing of a militant. The implementation of PM’s package in Valley without any proper plan by the then Government was also discussed with the Minister. The delegation urged the Minister that Government of India must review this package and declare it an economic package for migrants without any harsh set of guidelines.
The employees also met Union MoS for Defence Dr. Subhash Bhampre and held a threadbare discussion over the security of KP employees during any kind of odd situation in the region. The Minister was apprised about the position and status of employees after working in Valley for more than five years. The employees urged the MoS Defence to bring them out of the distrustful life. Taking a serious note of pathetic attitude by the State administration towards the employees, he assured the delegation that he would take up their matter with the Home Minister within a short period of time and try to find out positive results in the favour.
The delegation also met Special Secretary Home, internal security, MP Vinayak Bhaaurao Raut, BJP leader Tarun Vijay, MP Hemant Godsay, Shiv Sena Delhi Chief Neeraj Sethi and many KP organisations during their visit. They informed them that the State Government failed to protect them during the recent mob violence in Kashmir.
Expressing satisfaction over the deliberations with every dignitary, the delegation was hopeful that GoI and the state government would take necessary steps in solving their issues without any further delay. The delegation said that the main focus during the meetings remained adjustment of employees in Jammu.
Meanwhile, the employees protest entered in the 30th day here at the office of relief commissioner in support of their demands.
