AMEAK suspends 120 day long agitation on Govt assurance

JAMMU, Nov 11 : All Migrant Employees Association Kashmir (AMEAK) today suspended its 120 day long agitation on the assurance of the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti that they won’t be forced to join their duties till situation is conducive in Kashmir valley and their salaries would be credited to their accounts without interruption.
The assurance was given by the Chief Minister to the AMEAK delegation led by Vinod Pandit and King C Bharati yesterday and today she deputed the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Pawan Kotwal to agitation venue to convey her message directly to the agitating employees.
The Divisional Commissioner came to Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner’s office and talked to the Core Group members and later addressed the employees conveying Chief Minister’s message.
The Divisional Commissioner told the employees that he has been instructed by Principal Secretary to Chief Minister B B Vyas to convey to the employees that Chief Minister was very much aware of their situation and has assured them that nobody would be forced to join their duties till situation is conducive for them in the Valley. This was stated by AMEAK in a handout issued to press later.
The statement further said Dr Kotwal also told them the their salaries would be paid to them regularly keeping in view the prevailing conditions in the Valley adding no HoD or DDO would harass them or force them to join in Valley till further orders of the Government.
The Divisional Commissioner also asked the employees to give him specific instances where any HoD or DDO threatens them to join or stops their salary so that the same is conveyed to the Chief Minister directly.
He also assured them that their other demands would be taken up by the Government and a permanent solution worked out regarding their security concerns and other related issues very soon.
The Divisional Commissioner said that the Government was very much concerned towards their issues and employees should not feel neglected or left out adding it was duty of the Government to instil a sense of security among the citizens of the State.
Those who participated in the meeting with Div Com Dr Pawan Kotwal and later addressed the employees before suspending the agitation include Vinod Pandit, Chairman All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC), King C Bharati, national spokesperson APMCC, Rubon Saproo President AMEAK, MK Yogi President NC Minority Cell, Aryan Ramesh Secretary AIKS, Prof GK Mujju, Rakesh Pandita, Rajinder Pandita, Rakesh Pandita, Sunil Pandit, Rajinder, Rakesh Ranjan, Rakesh Bhan, Kamal Pandita, Raj Raina, Ajay Bhat, Vimal Raina, Ashok Dhar and Bittu Ji, from AMEAK while Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, YP Suman,  Deputy Commissioner Relief Dr Shubra Sharma, Additional DC Arun Manhas participated from administration side.
Speaking to the employees the leaders complimented all the employees and  Community leadership and organizations for their help and support during the past 120 days to make the agitation a success.
