JAMMU, Mar 10: An American woman was detained at Jammu Airport along with 700 grams gold in the shape of jewellery and biscuits.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anti-Hijacking Jammu (AHJ), Rajinder Gupta, a woman identified as Rama Seth, a resident of West Wsnleigh Drive, Greenville, USA was detained at Jammu Airport along with 700 grams gold in the shape of jewellery and biscuits.
The woman was travelling to USA from Jammu via New Delhi in AI-822, Gupta informed.
SSP stated that the woman has been handed over to Income Tax Department team led by Parvesh Khajuria, Inspector, Income Tax to take action as warranted under law.
The matter was also brought into the notice of Khalid Majeed, Deputy Commissioner Taxes (V&I), Jammu for necessary action, Gupta added.
