AMHSSC to train 1000 Kashmiri Pandit women staying in Jammu camps

NEW DELHI: Apparel, Made-Ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC) and All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS), an NGO, today signed an MoU to train 1,000 women belonging to the families of Kashmiri Pandits staying in Jammu camps.

The MoU was signed by General Secretary of AIKS M K Pajan and Roopak Vasishtha, CEO, of the council. Addressing mediapersons here, MR Pajan said, “MoU envisages training and certification of 1,000 women of families of Kashmiri Pandits staying in camps in Jammu under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).”

Mr Roopak said efforts would also be made to make clusters of such trained and certified women get connected to the industry. “Those who wish to start their own business would be helped by arranging loans under the Pradhanmantri Mudra Yojna from various banks,” he added.

AMHSSC has been formulated by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and NSDC to develop skills repository for apparel value chain, national occupational standards in the industry. (AGENCIES)
