JAMMU, Apr 1: Amid lockdown, the distribution of the relief materials among the needy persons by the social and political organizations continued.
In a bid to facilitate the supply of food and other essentials to all the inter-state migrant labourers and worker who are stranded at Kishtwar due to lockdown announced following the corona virus pandemic, the District Administration Kishtwar under the supervision of District Magistrate Kishtwar, Rajinder Singh Tara today distributed free rations among the 577 people. The whole exercise of food distribution was carried out by AD Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs GR Lone and Tehsildar Kishtwar Pramod Kumar.
Agriculture department Doda today came forward and provided 5 quintal mixed vegetables.
Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation accompanied by Sobat Ali, Councilor of Ward Number 74, Tina Mahajan, Secretary JMC, Sandeep Sharma Deputy Director Planning, Rajesh Gupta, Chief Enforcement Officer, Rajinder Kumar Sanitation Officer and subordinate staff of JMC distributed dry ration comprising essential commodities to fifty needy and downtrodden families residing in slums near Hotel Jammu Darbar Opposite Hotel Ritz Manor Channi Bye pass.

Amid lockdown, former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla fulfilling his social and moral responsibility of helping poor and needy people of Gandhi Nagar constituency in this hour of crisis with food items continued distributing ration among the needy families in Delli, Marakhari and Model Town. Block President SS Datt, District General Secretary DCC Aman Bawa, Rakesh Mennia, Iqbal Singh, Rajinder Singh Distt General Secretary, Corporater Inderjeet Kour, Ashok Kumar, Davinder Singh, Madan Choudhary beside many others were present on the occasion.
A camp was organized at Sewa Nikaten Ashram Gadigarh Jammu by Ghodi Wale Babaji to distribute free ration to about 200 families. Present on the occasion were Bhuvneshwar Gandotra President Jammu Heritage Society, Gautam Singh Ex-Sarpanch Birpur, Ramesh Choudary and others.
Councilor Ward Number 10 Vijaypur Niki Mahajan along with Advocate Rajiv Gupta and Ex Councilor Babal Gupta Vijaypur distributed dry ration among 200 needy and poor people.
With the aim to support the needy persons, Panchayat Halqa Chadwal continuously extended the support of langer sewa with the support of Panch Raj Kumar. Sarpanch Seemant Sharma, Parshotam Sharma, Bittu, Golu, Sindhu Rasoia and many others were present on the occasion.
Salal Power Station Jyotipuram , NHPC Limited handed over 1000 single used gloves to District Administration Reasi under the leadership of General Manager (In-Charge), Salal Power Station.
Keeping in mind the current situation, SET India NGO distributed food items among the poorer and very needy families. Gourav Sharma from Miran Sahib also came forward to distribute ration among slum dwellers. Ajay Negi distributed rice among 75 families. Volunteers including Naveen Sharma, Rakesh Kumar, Varinder Kumar, Jagdish Kumar and Anoop Kumar, Rajesh Sharma Founder Trustee and Manpreet Kour Founder Director were also present during the distribution programmes.
Association of Industries Battal Balian Udhampur in collaboration with all its members has decided to give 7 days dry ration to community kitchen program started by District Administration Udhampur. Udhayveer Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Raghubir Gandotra, Pardeep Bakshi, Yougesh Tripathi, Ravinder Thakur, Sanjeev Sharma and Gopal Bakshi have taken this decision.
137 Battalion of CRPF stationed at Udhampur distributed food items to the needy and poor families in Samroli area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Extending a helping hand, Team Jammu is daily providing dry ration to the needy people, who are unable to feed themselves because of the ongoing lockdown in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak, said Chairman Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal. Team Jammu members led by Chairman Zorawar Singh Jamwal have so far distributed more than one thousand ration bags to the needy people in various parts of Jammu city and its outskirts. For approaching the needy people at the time of complete lockdown, the Team Jammu is taking help of local Police.
SHO Police Station Nowgam Maseer Asgar identified some needy people in Nowgam area and provided survival kits to them.

In Rajouri, District Magistrate, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh along with the teams of dedicated officers including Additional Deputy Commissioner Sher Singh, Assistant Commissioner, Mohammad Ashraf, District Panchayat Officer, Abdul Khabir, Tehsildar Rajouri Sheraz Chouhan, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Angrez Singh and Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs, Mukhtar Ahmed Lone visited Khoera, Salani, Chhaprian, Malhar Mohalla, Ward Number 8 Rajouri and other areas and distributed packets of ration among the locals, migrant families, including labourers from outside UT, slum dwellers, destitute and street hawkers. As per the information received from the Assistant Labour Commissioner Rajouri, a total of 273 families have been facilitated by the District Administration till date.
Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu region by continuing its efforts for providing ration and other food items to the poor and needy persons, the Secretary Indian Red Cross Society Jammu Region, Vinod Malhota alongwith staff today distributed ration among 200 families and people of Talab Tillo and adjoining areas.
Yashpal Kundal Ex-Minister and General Secretary JKNPP distributed flour bags among hundreds of needy people falling under BPL category at block Nud in Samba today. Others present were Mohinder Singh Mankotia, Pritam Singh, Sardar Singh, Purshottam Singh and Ved Raj Sharma.
SSP Jammu Sridhar Patil along with SP Rural Jammu Suram Singh and SHO Police Station Domana Inspector Chanchal Singh distributed dry ration to 50 families of needy labourers/local families at Muthi Village. The items have been distributed in collaboration with Yuva Team Jammu. The police officers also spread awareness about the “do’s and don’ts” like circling with paint in front of shops of essential commodities to maintain social distance, use of mask/gloves while going out-side. SSP also appealed people to send only one person per family to buy essential commodity/medicine and that too with-in their vicinity and other important instructions.
Amid nationwide lockdown in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, resident of Kartholi and businessman Parshotam Singh Charak distributed food to the poor and needy who are struggling to earn a single meal a day. Singh opens his showroom and distributed food to daily wage workers and poor in Kartholi area of Bari Brahmna with the help of volunteers.
Sewa Bharti–an organization which is on the forefront to distribute the relief material to the needy persons who are facing difficulties due to lockdown distributed tea and biscuits to the security forces personnel deployed to supervise the lockdown. Meanwhile, RSS volunteers continues its relief material distribution on 8th day among the needy at Narwal, Bhagwati Nagar, Domana, Thathar Basti, Toph Sherkhania, Peerkho, Raghunathpura, Channi Himmat, Peer Mitha, Bus Stand, Chinore, Janipur and other areas.
District Administration Leh provided food items among 361 labourers at Housing Colony, 155 at Chuchot Yokma and 50 labourers at Shey. SDM Nubra Sonam Norboo also distributed free ration of food items to 219 migrant labourers at various parts of Nubra valley such as Skamphuk, Tersay and Partapur. SDM Khaltse Tsering Motup provided door to door delivery of essential commodities at various places such as Achinathang, Lehdo, Takmachik, Kanji, Chipkyan-gchan, Photolalok and Lamayuru and parts of Dha Hanu.
