Amid speculations about BJP-PDP meeting, Omar questions Mehbooba

SRINAGAR :  Amid speculations about BJP leaders meeting PDP president Mehbooba Mufti today regarding government formation in the state, National Conference (NC) working president Omar Abdullah has asked Ms Mufti her course of action in the wake of two students being killed by security forces in Pulwama.
Taking to micro blogging site Twitter, the former chief minister said, It’s not return of power projects & more money but these situations that will challenge Mehbooba. What’ll she do reports here said that PDP was demanding announcement by the Centre about return of power projects and package for rehabilitation of food victims before again forming the Government in the State with BJP.
The Sate is under Governor’s rule since January 8, a day after the death of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who was heading PDP-BJP coalition Gvernment in the state since March last year after no party could manage magic number of 44 in the 87-member House.
However, after the death of Sayeed, the PDP hardened its stand and demanded an assurance from the Centre on several issues before forming the government with BJP again.
There have been no formal talks between PDP and BJP on the issue of new Government so far. The PDP has authorized Ms Mehbooba to take final call on the issue of Government formation with BJP.   There were unconfirmed reports that a delegation of BJP will meet Ms Mehbooba on the 40 day Chaharum of Sayeed. Reports said Ram Madhav, who played an important role in previous coalition formation could also meet her today.   However, PDP could not confirm the reports. (AGENCIES)
