SRINAGAR, June 18: Amit Sharma, Special Secretary to Government, Transport Department with Additional Charge of J&K Road Safety Council today checked working of RTO Office Kashmir, SRTC Yard and Office of Director, J&K State Motor Garages.
The visit was conducted by Amit Sharma on the directions of the Principal Secretary to Government Asgar Samoon to oversee the functioning of these offices and check the progress of few ongoing projects in these offices.
During the visit to RTO Kashmir office in the afternoon, wherein RTO Ikram-Ullah Tak and other officials were conducting routine office affairs, Amit Sharma gave few suggestions for incorporating systemic improvement and ensure that human interface is minimized in these public offices.
Afterwards, the Special Secretary along with RTO Kashmir visited the complex of J&K State Motor Garages wherein he took a short review of the Office in the presence of Director Garages Zakir Chaudhary and Deputy Director Garages, Kashmir. He also took a quick round to check the facilities in the Complex and discussed about improving the facade of the complex in coming days.
In the last leg of the tour, Amit Sharma visited the site of installation of charging stations for electric buses in Kashmir which is coming-up inside the SRTC Yard here wherein GM, J&K SRTC, AE and JE PDD explained that 11 KV power supply shall be made available and stabilized here by the end of this month and the same shall be ready for making SRTC Yard fully operational for 20 electric buses which has reached Kashmir.
The Special Secretary directed the SRTC team to ensure timely completion of all pending works so that the public in Kashmir could have the privilege of enjoying the ride of electric buses which has already become a reality in the winter capital of the State sometime back.
