JAMMU, Aug 31: Administrator, Government Medical College (GMC) & Associated Hospitals Jammu (AHJ), Amit Sharma today began a new chapter in the J&K Medical history by introducing online OPD project, as an ace e-Governance step towards helping the cause of millions of patients who keep waiting to get OPD appointments from respective departments of GMC departments.
Principal GMC Jammu Dr Nasib Chand Digra recently formulated a committee spearheaded by Amit Sharma, Administrator AHJ and Dr Sandeep Dogra (Associated Professor, Department of Microbiology), Dr Gurmeet Singh (Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine) and Dr Vivek Mahajan (Department of Pharmacology) as its members to accomplish multiple novel e-Governance initiatives in GMC& AH Jammu in a time-bound manner.
The agenda of today’s critical meeting set by the Administrator included rolling out of an Online Registration System (ORS) based on Unique Hospital Identification Number (UHID) of all patients, implementation of Hospital Information Management System (HIMS) as a part of e-Hospitals Project, online provisioning of Lab Reports, online/live status of blood availability in Blood Banks and digitization of record of all departments of Associated Hospitals.
Amit led a threadbare discussion on all these agenda points and Dr Dogra, being member-secretary of the Committee assured the Chair that requisite necessary steps shall be taken within no time to implement online OPD on the pattern of AIIMS and all top institutions of the nation after a strong brain-storming on the issue amongst all members about it. Administrator also directed that GMCH team should register itself on National e-Hospital portal after fulfilling all codal formalities which is the first step towards achieving this important e-Governance mission.
During the meeting, it was also shared with the Administrator that the blood banks of AHJ are already connected with national network of e-Rakt but the different blood group availability will also be made Live soon for the convenience of needy patients in all blood banks of GMCH & AH Jammu.
