CHENNAI (TN), Sept 14: Amit Sharma, Secretary Transport, Union Territory of Ladakh emphasised that public self awareness and consciousness is pivotal for reducing road accidents and crashes during an all-important Road Safety Summit 2023 held at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras wherein he was invited as a Special Guest and a Keynote Speaker.

He advised that self-awareness and adherence to traffic advisories issued from time-to-time must be followed to ensure minimum loss of human lives due to accidents and there should be no usage of mobile phones while driving the vehicles.
Sharma emphasised for more awareness rallies and expeditions on the Himalayan Roads for four-wheel and two-wheel vehicles which shall be always welcomed by the UT Administration, led by the visionary and dynamic leadership of Lieutenant Governor Brig (Dr) B.D Mishra (Retd) and Advisor Pawan Kotwal whenever such initiatives are taken in Ladakh.
