JAMMU, Apr 21: Managing Director, J&K SIDCO, Amit Sharma today sensitized the students of SKAUST-J on agro entrepreneurship and its scope in J&K.
He exonerated upon the students to become ‘job creators’ rather than becoming the job seekers. He further highlighted that this the best time for women entrepreneurship to prosper in the State due to vision of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Industries and Commerce Minister Chander Parkash Ganga who are bringing up one exclusive Women Entrepreneurship Development Institute in heart of Jammu city soon which will be exclusively meant to promote women entrepreneurship in J&K.
He also mentioned about various avenues available in agriculture and allied sectors to take up entrepreneurship ventures in this field.
While mentioning about the importance of agro-based entrepreneurship, Amit Sharma spoke about vast range of financing options available to start-ups and other first generation entrepreneurs.
He also informed the students about the upcoming industrial spectrum in J&K which will further widen their scope for seeking jobs in the private sector in this state and it’s majors fall-out of ancillary industries wherein lot of youngsters can plan their future. He also interacted with the students and provided solutions to their on spot queries about entrepreneurship.
Dr TAS Ganai, Director Education, Dr DP Abrol, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture were also present on the occasion.
This lecture was co-ordinated by Dr Sanjay Guleria, Incharge Counseling and Placement Cell.
Later, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-J Prof NK Sharma also had a brief interaction with MD, J&K SIDCO Amit Sharma.
