DEHRADUN, Oct 27: BJP president Amit Shah will address three rallies in poll-bound Uttarakhand as part of the party’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’, scheduled to begin on November 12 to galvanise party cadres and generate public opinion against the Congress-led Harish Rawat government.
Announcing the revised schedule of the yatra, state BJP chief Ajay Bhatt said it will formally begin on November 12 and will be flagged off beyond Dehradun by Shah after addressing a rally here on November 13.
Shah will address two more rallies in the state during the course of the yatra, one in Almora on November 22 and the other in Haldwani on December 7, he said.
Conceived as a “preparatory exercise” ahead of the Assembly elections next year, the yatra will help party cadres gear up for the polls and convince the people to get rid of a corrupt government, Bhatt said.
The yatra will cover a distance of 3,781 KM in Garhwal and Kumaon regions during which 92 public meetings will be addressed by prominent Central BJP leaders including Sushma Swaraj, Smriti Irani, Dharmendra Pradhan and J P Nadda. (PTI)
