NEW DELHI, Mar 21: Secretary, Information Technology, Union Territory of Ladakh, Amit Sharma, today called for harnessing Internet of Things (IoT) for the regional development.
He was addressing a gathering at the Confederation of Industry’s (CII) 6th edition of the summit on the Internet of Things in New Delhi, where he was invited as a Guest of the Honour.
Amidst industry leaders and corporate luminaries, Sharma emphasized the imperative of leveraging innovation through seamless integration.
In his inaugural speech, Sharma articulated his vision for Ladakh’s technological future, advocating for the transformational potential of the IoT ecosystem.
He underscored the need to pioneer novel approaches to prosperity and progress, harnessing the synergy between devices, data, and aspirations to propel the region into the digital age.
Highlighting the evolving landscape of IoT, Sharma elucidated how technologies such as smart devices, AR-VR, AI, and ML are redefining norms and continuously evolving.
He cautioned against the risk of obsolescence, urging stakeholders to adapt to the dynamic IoT-driven paradigm.
Sharma extended a warm invitation to IT and ITES industries to invest in Ladakh, particularly in electronics manufacturing and emerging technologies like IoT, AI, and Cloud Computing.
He emphasized the region’s potential for growth, especially in light of the impending establishment of an Electronics Manufacturing Cluster under the EMC 2.0 Scheme.
The other dignitaries who spoke on the occasion included Prof Ashutosh Sharma, former Secretary of the Ministry of Science & Technology; Dr Rishi Bhatnagar, President of Lava International; Dilip Sawhney, Managing Director of Rockwell Automation; and Jasmeet Singh from the World Economic Forum, among others.
