JAMMU, Dec 8: Senior Congress leader Sham Lal today expressed his anguish over withdrawing of the cases against the stone-pelters in Kashmir and move towards releasing of separatists and political prisoners.
While speaking in a meeting at Akhnoor today, Congress leader  said that the amnesty policy of the BJP- PDP Govt would prove detrimental to the national interest. This move will demoralise the Armed Forces who are fighting with the militants to bring peace and tranquility in the State at the risk of their lives.
He questioned the Govt as to why they failed to withdraw the cases against the youth of Jammu who took part in various agitations like Amarnath land row etc. These youth are nationalists and not indulged in any anti-national activities like the stone pelters of Kashmir. He regretted that  the BJP has not uttered a single word against this move.
” The BJP has completely surrendered before the PDP-led  Govt  for the greed of power. The BJP when in opposition raises hue and cry on the issue of discrimination with Jammu province but  when in power they forget such issues. It was the same BJP when in Opposition asked for registration of sedation charges against stone pelters and categorised them  as  Pak agents, ”  he added.
Sham further said that the people who hoist National flag are contesting cases against them in various courts and those who indulge in antinational activities and raising ISIS and Pak flags in Kashmir are being granted amnesty.
Taking dig at BJP,  the former MLA Akhnoor said that the BJP leaders while campaigning for elections in 2014 had promised to the people of  Ladakh for the granting the status of Union Territory to the region but more than three years have elapsed, no such move has been taken by the Govt in this regard. The people of  Ladakh are thus feeling cheated, he added.
