Will improve patient care, says Principal

JAMMU, May 13: A two days CME cum workshop on Mechanical ventilation is being organised by the Department of Anaesthesiology and ICU, GMC Jammu on 13 & 14th of May 2023 under the aegis of Indian Society of Anaesthesiology (ISA) Jammu branch & Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM).
The CME has been organised under the patronship of Dr. Shashi Sudhan Sharma, Principal & Dean, GMC Jammu. In her inaugural speech, she lauded the Department of Anaesthesia for conducting such an academic feast which is going to train doctors of the State and improve patient care drastically.
The workshop was organised under the leadership of Dr. Anju Jamwal, Professor & Head of the Department of Anaesthesia, Dr. Anita Vig, President ISA Jammu Branch and Dr. Anjali Mehta, Vice President ISA Jammu.
The eminent faculty which conducted the training programme included Dr. Saurabh Taneja, Dr. Vinod K Singh and Dr. Niraj Tyaji from Sir Gangaram Hospital New Delhi, Dr. Amit Madaan from Patil Hospital Jalandher, Dr. Kishor Mangal from Fortis Hospital Jaipur, Dr. Saurabh Mehra from Fortis Hospital Noida and Dr. Ashish Garg from Garg clinic Chandigarh.
The two day course is being attended by more than 80 delegates from across the States. Under Graduates, Post-Graduates, faculty members and specialists from hospitals like GMC Jammu, ASCOMS Hospital, GMC Rajouri, Narayana Hospital, Gandhi Nagar Hospital, ESI Hospital are taking part and doing hands on training . The course includes training the delegates about different criterion of putting critical patients on the ventilator, newer modes of ventilation, management of these patients and early & timely extubation.
