JAMMU, Aug 12: Hindi play “Ek Dhoop Saphed Si” was staged at Seminar hall, Computer Science Department, University of Jammu by Anamika Arts. The play was assisted by J&K Bank Limited, Zonal Office Jammu and Simple Tax Solutions Private Limited, Gandhi Nagar.
The play has depicted the miserable and pitiable condition of those parents whose children have been settled abroad.
Parmod and Savitri have spent fifteen years waiting their son, Raju, who has been settled abroad and got married to a foreign lady and also has an eight year old son. Raju comes to India for some business purpose and stays in the house of parents. His parents become happy but Raju pays no heed to their feelings. Parents decide to kill each other so that Raju could perform their last rituals. At the movement they were going to kill each other their inner conscience arises and they change their decision.
Santosh Sangra and Rajesh Raina portrayed their parts with remarkable acting and indulged in their characters to such an extent that it was much difficult to distinguish themselves from their original identity.
The play has been written by Rajneesh Gupta, who has written almost thirty stage plays in Hindi and Dogri languages.
Sanjay Rohmetra managed the whole team very actively while Sunil Kumar composed the music. Make up was of Shammi Dhammer and Omesh Dogra handled the lights.
