Srinagar, Apr 1: With a surge in COVID-19 positive cases, district administration Anantnag today made usage of facemasks necessary across the district.
In this regard, an order issued here by the Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag said that due to the recent surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country, usage of masks has been strongly advised by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
“It has become imperative to ensure 100% usage of masks in all the public places across the district to minimize the spread of COVID-19 infection,” the order read.
“The concerned SDM/ Tehsildar shall ensure compliance with these directives through the deployment of field staff at all the prominent places in the district. The concerned officials have been authorized to impose a fine of Rs 500/- on violators,” the order directed.
