JAMMU, Apr 13: Expressing serious concern and utter disappointment over holding salaries of teachers, Awami National Conference (ANC) has said  that nothing can be more unfortunate than this that  daily wagers and SSA Teachers in Jammu and Kashmir have not been paid their wages and salaries for the past several months.
In a statement issued here, provincial president ANC, Gian Singh demanded immediate release of wages and salaries of Casual  Labourers/Daily wagers, SSA teachers, FMPHW and MMPHW workers to enable them to shoulder their responsibilities.
“Casual labourers, daily wagers in all departments, SSA teachers, ASHA and Anganwari workers, FMPHW and MMPHW numbering in thousands, have not been paid their wages for the past several months. Neither previous Government nor present Government has taken any concrete steps to address salary issues and unfortunately those expecting release of their salaries after formation of new Government have been put to more sufferings, Singh observed.
He said despite protest demonstrations, the successive Governments have failed to evolve a mechanism to solve their grievances.
