ANC’s concern over non-implementation of DDB decisions

JAMMU, Dec 1: Awami National Conference (ANC) has expressed serious concern over the non-implementation of decisions taken in District Development Board (DDB) meetings.
Taking a dig on the ruling coalition, ANC provincial president, Gian Singh called DDB meetings as “tea parties” and said if the decisions were not being implemented; the practice of these meetings should be discontinued.
He said even if a developmental work is sanctioned, it still takes six to eight months in the Civil Secretariat to get cleared. Singh further said that 95 per cent of the decisions taken at DDB meetings are not being implemented.
“If the DDB meeting recommendations are not implemented let us wind up it,” he suggested. Singh reminded that holding of review meetings of DDBs was a regular feature introduced for the effective supervision and monitoring of development works for the last several years.
He maintained that in absence of accountability regarding implementation of decisions the Board meetings have lost the relevance.
