SRINAGAR: Minister of State for Hajj and Auqaf, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi, today felicitated people of the State on annual Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA), famously know as Dastgeer Sahib which is being observed on Tuesday.
Andrabi said that Peer-e-Peeran, Gous-ul-Azam Dastgeer Sahib (RA) uplifted people morally, spiritually and economically. Through propagation of Islamic teachings the Sufi mystic brought prosperity, stability and tranquility in Baghdad which then spread to the whole world and to Kashmir as well, he added.
The Minister further said teachings of Dastgeer Sahib (RA) are must for peace, brotherhood, and progress to flourish.
While reviewing the arrangements for the Urs, Andrabi directed the concerned officials to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply, transport facilities, besides proper sanitation measures in and around shrines of Dastgeer Sahib (RA).
