SRINAGAR, Oct 22: Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board today inaugurated the upgraded display room for Holy Relic and renovated office of the Board at the famous Sufi shrine of Zainuddin Wali (RA) at Aishmuqam in Anantnag district.
Dr Andrabi also laid foundation for newly constructed Sanitary complex at Sarbal shrine later. Waqf Chairperson paid obeisance at the shrines and prayed for the peaceful and prosperous J&K. She was accompanied by the Tehsildar and Executive Magistrate of the Board, Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, Executive Engineer Tariq Kaloo and CEO of PDA.
She said that during the past two and a half years, upgrading of the infrastructure and other facilities at all shrines throughout J&K transformed the management of Sufi Shrines here. “After ensuring transparency and accountability in the Waqf Financial and Management System, infrastructural development projects were undertaken by the Board throughout the UT and here at these shrines numerous developmental works were initiated and completed during these 30 months.
The change is quite visible and it is encouraging to see the people acknowledging the change”, Andrabi said. She said that Sufi thought of Kashmir was the answer to all violence and hatred around so that the real peace and harmony is strengthened at the grass roots.
“Our Sufi’s and Rishi’s are the true ambassadors of truth who are leading us from darkness to light. We need to strengthen the spiritual centers associated with these beacons of light”, said Darakhshan.
She also inspected other ongoing construction projects at Aishmuqam and laid foundation for many others including the recreational space at the shrine.
