Anganwadi workers, helpers demand pending wages

JAMMU, May 4: Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association General Secretary, Neelam Sharma has appealed to J&K Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu that Anganwadi workers and helpers should be paid their pending wages of the last eight months.
In a handout Sharma stated that without getting wages the poor and low paid Anganwadi workers are facing financial crisis while the Prime Minister has directed that salary during the lockdown period must be paid to the entire working class.
She also said that Anganwadi workers are working like Corona warriors and are conducting door-to-door surveys and it is therefore demanded that their total pending salary of eight months should be paid to them without any further delay.
Sharma also demanded insurance cover for Anganwadi workers at par with other States.
