Anganwadi workers hold one day conference

JAMMU, Sept 17: Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association (AWWA), a unit of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, held one day conference on the Vishav Karma Jyanti Divas under the presidentship of Swarna Choudhary.
A large number of workers participated in the conference which was prominently attended by several Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh leaders including senior leader Lakshman Ravinder Singh, president Subash Verma, general secretary Ashok Choudhary as also association general secretary Neelam Sharma.
While addressing senior labour leaders demanded to declare Anganwadi workers as Government employees; hike in their salary to Rs 15000 and Rs 10000 for workers and helpers, regular payment of wages, maintenance of salary book and promotion of Anganwadi workers to supervisors as also other benefits like corner charges, TA and DA, social security and pension etc.
Addressing workers Lakshman Ravinder Singh demanded from the State and Central Governments to declare paid holiday in the country on Vishva Karma Jyanti Divas as entire working class celebrates this day as festival. This day is being celebrated by Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh throughout the country. In Jammu and Kashmir all units of BMS celebrated the day at Reasi, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Ascoms Hospital employees, Super Bazar employees, PHE employees etc.
The Government was urged to implement Labour Laws, abolish contract system and solution to the problems of EPF and ESI. Subash Verma, president, Ashok Choudhary, general secretary and Association president Swarna Chodhary and general secretary Neelam Sharma also addressed the workers and appealed them to remain united to safeguard their rights for welfare of the workers.
