Anganwadi workers protest

Srinagar, July 6: Anganwadi workers and helpers of the Social Welfare Department staged a protest today under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association against the Government to press for their demands.
Addressing the workers at the Press Enclave, AWHA president Naseema Kuchay asked the Government to regularize their services, increase monthly honorarium and other pending demands.
They warned to intensify their agitation if the Government fails to fulfill their demands. Later, the agitating workers submitted a memorandum to the Commissioner Secretary of the department in support of their demands.
Earlier, AWHA held a meeting to discuss the reforms needed for better delivery of services under Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), and pledged to put in their best to make the scheme a huge success all over the country.
