SAMBA, Nov 27: Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association , a Unit of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) held a protest demonstration at Samba against the Government Order No 268 dated 28-08-2017 against retirement with out retirement benefits w.e.f January 2018 is not proper under law.
The protesters said that the order is anti-worker and it has been issued without applying proper mind as this way the ICDS workers have been deprived of retirement benefits.
The Association said that the order was not acceptable to them and Government should not put them to problems in their old age and deprive of financial help and medical aid.
The protesters said making retirement scheme without retirement benefits is meaningless and demanded hike in salary to Rs 15,000 for Anganwadi workers and Rs, 10,000 for Anganwadi helpers. Besides, they be given social security benefits under EPF and ESI schemes and other benefits under pension scheme.
They demanded increase in fuel charges, 100 percent promotions as supervisors, supply of nutrition properly and timely, revocation of order 268 and framing of retirement scheme with benefits.
They said in Samba district the nutrition was not supplied till date for over one and half years and the same should be immediately released.
Subash Verma president of BMS, Ashok Choudhary its general secretary, Swarana Choudhary president of Association and Neelam Sharma its general secretary demanded that the demands be immediately conceded.
