Anganwari workers protest at Samba

SAMBA, Nov 16: A protest demonstration was today held by Anganwari workers and helpers in front of Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Samba in support of their demands.
The demonstration was organized by Anganwari Workers Welfare Association a unit of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS). The protesters were demanding hike in salaries of Anganwari workers and helpers to Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
Addressing the workers Subash Verma, president and Ashok Choudhary its general secretary Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and Mrs Swarna Choudhary president of the Association and Soma Devi its another leader said the prices of essential commodities are touching sky and the workers are paid a paltry sum despite being asked to perform six hour duty by the Government.
