SRINAGAR, Jan 21: Scores of Anganwari workers today staged a protest over non-payment of their salaries from past 14 months.
The workers assembled at press enclave here and raised slogans against administration. The protesters were miffed over the withholding of their salaries and accused administration of turning blind eye towards their repeated pleas.
Mehmooda, a worker, said the salaries of over 1500 Anganwari workers are withheld since last 14 months. “However, the authorities seem reluctant to release their salaries. We are being forced to take streets as the Government hardly pays heed over our sufferings,” she said.
