POONCH, May 11: A large number of females, who served as Anganwari workers in ICDS and have reportedly been terminated from the services, today staged massive protest at Mandi tehsil headquarter of Poonch district and kept the main road block for about hours.
A large number of these females assembled at the main bus stand outside Tehsil Office complex and blocked Mandi Poonch road. Amid sloganeering they said that State Government has terminated them from services despite the fact that they were serving in ICDS since years. They also demanded immediate quashing of the order of their termination.
With the intervention of Tehsil administration the protest was called off.
