“We are made to perform a host of duties like that of a health worker, pre-school teacher, doing surveys and making preparation of list of beneficiaries from 0 to 6 years children and lactating as well as pregnant women, immunization, referral services, etc but in turn a meager amount is being paid to us”, Suri said.
“For last six months, we were on roads to get our rights and after assurance of Governor’s administration, we were hopeful that justice will be done to us”, she said and regretted that they were cheated and mocked by the administration which announced a meager hike of Rs 500 and Rs 400 in monthly honorarium of Amganwari workers and Helpers.
Rejecting the meager enhancement in honorarium, Suri appealed newly appointed Governor Satyapal Malik to intervene personally into the matter and resolved their genuine demands as per their memorandum submitted earlier.
Later, all protesting Anganwari workers and Helpers take out a rally up to lower Gumat Chowk while raising slogans in support of their demands .
